NEWSLETTER NO. 12 MONDAY 14 MAY 2018
Happy belated wishes to all our mums for Mothers’ Day. Being a parent comes with no instruction manual but is one of the most important and rewarding jobs.
CITY OF HARARE
Thank you to all the parents who responded to our request to help with the road signs and leaking water pipes. I was encouraged and feel confident that once the land has dried up we will see an improvement in this area.
Please note that assembly is now at 7.30 am on both Monday and Wednesday.
FIRST AID BOXES
Our grateful thanks to Drs. Masumba for the very generous donation of first aid supplies.
Our Shavuot service will be organised by Mrs Makunike and the Grade Five class and will be held on Friday 18th May at 9.45 am. The children will wear white and a garland and donate fruit and vegetables to an old age home and the workers.
Shavuot is the “Feast of Weeks”. It marks the important wheat harvest in the land of Israel. (Exodus Ch 34 v 22) and it commemorates the anniversary of the day G-d gave the Torah to the nation of Israel assembled at Mount Sinai. The festival of Shavuot marks the completion of the seven week period between Passover and Shavuot.
Monday 21st May the school is closed for the Shavuot Jewish Holy Day.
Afternoon activities start this week. Just a reminder clubs are from 3.30 pm – 4.30 pm. This afternoon we start our Agriculture Club. In future, the club members will prepare their own beds.
OPERATION WINTER WARMTH
Thank you to the families who have supported this worthy cause. Please note that we will be collecting warm clothes and blankets for underprivileged children until mid-June.
MEET THE PRINCIPAL
Please join me for tea and sandwiches on Tuesday 15th May at 7.00 am for an informal get together.
NURSERY SCHOOL GROUNDS
Please note that unless you have permission from the nursery school, the grounds are out of bounds.
On Fridays there is a collection at Shabbat. However, with the shortage of money please note that tinned food and dry ingredients are greatly appreciated by the Michael foundation which cares for orphans and underprivileged children.
Thank you to all the parents who ordered Purim photographs last term. This collection enabled us to purchase towel dispensers for the ladies’ and gents’ toilet.
SPORTS MANAGEMENT COURSE
Mr Banda will be attending this course on the 14th and 15th of May. The topic is “Global Trends in Sports Management and Resource Mobilisation” with the guest speaker being Ari Johannes Koivu the Executive Director of Sports and Development, Finland.
This is open every Wednesday from 12.00 noon to 1.00 pm. Should you have any queries please contact Robyn Weare on +263774073186 email@example.com
